Procedure
Installing SRM Servers at Production site:
SRM1:
· Install the SRM executable from command prompt /V\”CUSTOM_SETUP=1\”
· When it ask ’s to enter vCenter Server Address and Credentials, enter the details of First vCenter Server
· You would see couple of additional steps, where installation will ask you to select the type of SRM Plug-in Identifier. Choose the option Custom SRM Plug-in Identifier. When you click on next, it will ask you for SRM ID, Organization, and Description. The SRM ID (Ex: SRM.for.Site1), which you entered here, the same SRM ID has to be used, when installing DR site SRM1.
SRM2:
· Install the SRM executable from command prompt /V\”CUSTOM_SETUP=1\”
· When it ask ‘s to enter vCenter Server Address and Credentials, enter the details of Second vCenter Server
· You would see couple of additional steps, where installation will ask you to select the type of SRM Plug-in Identifier. Choose the option Custom SRM Plug-in Identifier. When you click on next, it will ask you for SRM ID, Organization, and Description. The SRM ID (Ex: SRM.for.Site2), which you entered here, the same SRM ID has to be used, when installing DR site SRM2.
Note: Each SRM server should have its own database.
Installing SRM Servers at Recovery site:
SRM1:
· Install the SRM executable from command prompt /V\”CUSTOM_SETUP=1\”
· When it ask ‘s to enter vCenter Server Address and Credentials, enter the details of DR vCenter Server
· You would see couple of additional steps, where installation will ask you to select the type of SRM Plug-in Identifier. Choose the option Custom SRM Plug-in Identifier. When you click on next, it will ask you for SRM ID, Organization, and Description. The SRM ID, which you entered here, should be same as the SRM ID, which you had entered, when installing PROD site SRM1
SRM2:
· Install the SRM executable from command prompt /V\”CUSTOM_SETUP=1\”
· When it ask ‘s to enter vCenter Server Address and Credentials, enter the details of DR vCenter Server
· You would see couple of additional steps, where installation will ask you to select the type of SRM Plug-in Identifier. Choose the option Custom SRM Plug-in Identifier. When you click on next, it will ask you for SRM ID, Organization, and Description. The SRM ID, which you entered here, should be same as the SRM ID, which you had entered, when installing PROD site SRM2
Note: Each SRM server should have its own database.
